History today is not what is was, and we're going to be digging into the genres of ancient history in the book(s) of Kings over the next few weeks. Also this week: a prophesying Babylonian general, and the question of Jesus' divinity.

Three great, thought-provoking passages here, and loads to get stuck into. The question of early Israelite religion is a fascinating one, and the Kings passage this week has some insights. There's even some overlap in Jeremiah, as the Babylonian officer Nebuzaradan makes us think about how God inspires people to speak his words.
In Mark, we consider Jesus' claim to be the Son of Man - the Human One - and how that relates to one of the New Testament's most challenging questions: "In what way was Jesus divine?"
